Do you have a bunch of patches you want to put to use?
 
Well, we have you covered. Why not learn to mend your own jeans using techniques such as patchwork, sashiko, and textile blending.
 
Class:
Introduction to denim repairs! This is a three-hour class where all required repair materials will be provided. Students should bring 1-3 of their own garments to be repaired.
 
Hour 1- Introduction to repairs, the different types & their functions, and demonstration of how to use the sewing machines.
Hour 2&3- students will prep and sew their repairs.
 
Goals:
The goal of the Denim Repair Workshop is for students to get a basic understanding of different styles of repairs and their functions. They will receive a demonstration of different types of repairs, including patching, Sashiko, and patch blending.
 
What to Bring:
Students are asked to provide their 1-3 of their own garments for repair. If students do not have items, they will have the option to make sample repair swatches. All materials/ notions required for the completion of repairs will be provided by the instructor.
